I'm REEEEALLY upset about punkbuster. FUcking lame

So they took out a melee from each race. Is it all the dps guys or are they split between dps and tank classes.

Now that I'm looking at it, from a warhammer race standpoint this sort of makes sense. The Dark elves as an army are strong and fragile, so them not having a tank isn't that bad imo. However, the orcs should have a HUGE advantage in melee and a HUGE disadvantage in magic. Getting rid of an orc melee class is questionable.

Punk buster sux... it makes Q3 choppy as hell and I can't turn it off!! PB is a HORRIBLE idea, really really bad.

Woah... at first I had thought that those 4 classes just wouldn't be in the game at launch, but they're taking them out COMPLETELY!? That's really lame... I wonder if they'll replace them with something else or what.

Why is Punkbuster a big deal? It can't be any worse than Blizzard's Warden or whatever that BS was. HA! If only that was the case. PB helped kill Q3 by causing your game to stutter ever 3 seconds. Even on my current machine, which should be able to run about 8 copies of the game simultaneously it stutters. Plus you had to deal with loads of false positives AND the staff was crazy rude. Then after all that, PEOPLE COULD STILL CHEAT EASILY! PB sucks the big one.

Well, seeing as their revenue stream depends on people continuing to play the game, I doubt if PB is causing problems that they will continue to keep it running (from an article I read, PB is already in the beta, but they can turn it on and off at will).

The classes were a melee dps and melee tank from each side. Not a big deal for me personally, because my top choices are shaman and squig herder, but it is pretty lame to have to cut classes to make the release. Same goes for the cities.

Agree with Adam that punkbuster sucks. I had huge problems in bf2 with it booting me out of about 2/3 of the servers I'd join. Also had some problems in quake wars beta, but that was... well, a beta. I've never played a game that had punkbuster and not had problems with it.
