Revolution for DS the R4 I have been going on and on for the past few days, boring the hell out of my friends with my new found DS excitement after getting my R4.  In an attempt to slow my roll, I have decided to post my entire review here and include some links that I seem to find myself sending to people over and over.

WHAT IT IS:

The Revolution for DS (aka the R4), is a Slot-1 device (same slot that your Nintendo DS (NDS) games go in) that allows for you to run "back-up" NDS games and run homebrew software.  The default R4 install comes with the homebrew program 'MoonShell', which allows you to listen to MP3's and watch movies on your DS.  I've been hesitant buying in to other mod-chip type items that allow you to play "back-up" games because they would require soddering or some funky way to load the program.  That is NOT the case with the R4.  You simply drag-n-drop from your computer to the memory card, plug the memory card and R4 into the DS, and boot into new GAMING sexiness.

I have never been happier with any other gaming product.  I have played so many 'back-up' games in the past few days that I don't think I have spoken a single word to my wife or kid (is that really a bad thing?).  This is a must have device, plain and simple.

WHAT YOU NEED:

You'll need an R4 and a MicroSD card.  Here are direct links to the ones I purchased. FlamingBaby.com receives a few pennies if you purchase directly from the links below. :)

- R4DS for Nintendo DS

-- You can find it cheaper else where, but I prefer to go with more reputable sites.

- SanDisk Micro Secure Digital 2 GB Memory Card (SDSDQ-2048-A10M) Retail Package
-- This may not be the best MicroSD card for all games but it works on the majority.  I think the only one it doesn't work with is Castlevania: Portal of something?  More info can be found in the R4 rom compatibility list link below.

!!! Do not get a MicroSD card ABOVE 2GBs - The R4 does not support larger than 2!!!

Even if you don't decide to go with our Amazon.com links above, DO NOT BUY THE R4 from GameYeeeahThey are absolute shit.
